The Hong Kong Science Museum needed interactive kiosks for its science-fiction Book Corner. The experience had to help visitors discover related titles from Hong Kong Public Libraries, explore different science-fiction themes, and access supporting book-review content through a public-facing touchscreen interface.
The interface needed to organize a broad collection of books into categories that visitors could understand quickly. It also had to support Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and English, accommodate short public interactions, present book information clearly, and return automatically to the starting screen after inactivity.
We developed the concept, content structure, user flow, interface design, and programming. Visitors could browse titles by science-fiction topic, switch languages, preview selected books, and watch related book-review videos. QR codes provided a direct connection from the kiosk content to additional library resources.
The completed kiosks turned the Book Corner into a self-guided discovery point. Visitors could move from broad science-fiction interests to specific titles and reviews through a clear multilingual interface, while QR access extended the experience beyond the museum and into the public library network.
