This RFID interactive table was developed for DFS at Hawaii International Airport. Visitors could pick up physical items on the table to trigger related video content on the screen, then continue through product information, booking, purchase, coupon, or QR-code actions.
The system needed to connect physical behaviour with digital content in real time. Every pickup, put-down, screen selection, viewing duration, and interaction path had to be captured accurately without making the visitor experience feel technical or complicated.
RFID sensors were installed under the table to detect each item movement. When visitors picked up an item, the system triggered matching video content on the main screen. Visitors could then browse sub-menus, select product or booking options, print a coupon, or scan a QR code to keep a record.
The table turned product exploration into a measurable retail journey. DFS could receive real-time interaction data, including viewing time, content selection, pick-up count, and visitor behaviour patterns, supporting backend marketing analysis and campaign evaluation.
