Hong Kong International Airport introduced interactive projection within its new washrooms.
The system had to detect hand movement accurately within a bright environment while operating close to running water. The projection equipment also required protection from humidity, splashing, and continuous public use.
We developed compact projection units integrated into the sink structure, combining projectors, sensors, protective enclosures, and custom-fabricated components. Each sensor trigger point was calibrated so that moving a hand toward a faucet activated the corresponding animation.
The installation transformed a routine washroom interaction into a responsive digital experience. Visitors could trigger localized animations through natural hand movements, adding an unexpected interactive layer to the airport environment.
