Interactive Projection

client:

Spinifex

role:

Stepping pad design, projection integration, testing, on-site delivery.

problem:

Rainy outdoor site required waterproof interactive control.

result:

Stepping pads triggered live facade projection.

skills:

Facade projection, waterproofing, sensor input, calibration.

Context

Light the Night was an outdoor projection event at National Gallery Singapore. Working with event agency Spinifex, we created an interactive game system where visitors could trigger building facade projection through physical stepping pads.

Challenge

The main challenge was outdoor reliability. Singapore’s frequent rain, humidity, and changing site conditions required waterproof hardware, stable cabling, protected control components, and a robust setup for continuous public use.

Approach

We designed and built the stepping pads, connected them to the projection system, and tested the trigger response. Each pad input activated projection content on the building facade, turning visitor movement into a large-scale visual response.

Impact

The installation transformed the facade projection into an active public game. Visitors could participate directly, while the building became a responsive screen animated by their steps.
