270° Immersive Room

client:

Hong Kong Cyberport

role:

Projection planning, panoramic editing, on-site installation.

problem:

Standard 16:9 videos were unsuitable for panoramic projection.

result:

Panoramic content optimized for a more immersive viewing point.

skills:

Projection geometry, edge blending, calibration.

Context

Hong Kong Cyberport commissioned a 270° immersive room for presenting corporate content across three connected projection surfaces. The installation transformed conventional video playback into a spatial viewing experience.

Challenge

The client supplied separate 16:9 corporate videos that were not designed for panoramic projection. Directly stretching the footage would distort compositions, disconnect imagery between walls, and weaken the immersive effect.

Approach

We planned the projection geometry, rebuilt selected footage on a panoramic canvas, and reframed key scenes around an optimal first-person viewing point. The multi-projector system was then installed, aligned, blended, and calibrated on site.

Impact

Existing corporate videos became a unified 270° presentation with continuous visual movement across three walls. The optimized viewpoint improved image continuity, spatial depth, and the overall immersive experience.
