The Highways Department needed a public-facing exhibition display for the Central Kowloon Route during its 40th anniversary roving event. The installation combined a physical masterplan, 3-side hologram content, lighting sequences, and tablet navigation to explain the tunnel route, ventilation buildings, administration building, and related sustainability features.
The key challenge was synchronizing the hologram content with the illuminated masterplan. The system had to guide visitors from basic route information to more technical infrastructure topics, while keeping the tunnel alignment, ventilation sequence, and sustainability message clear for a general public audience.
We developed the concept, storyboard, animation content, hologram display, masterplan lighting logic, tablet interface flow, and on-site installation. Visitors could use the tablet to select different CKR topics, triggering related hologram scenes and matching lighting sequences across the physical model.
The final installation turned complex infrastructure information into a guided interactive experience. By combining hologram storytelling with synchronized lighting on the masterplan, the display helped visitors understand the Central Kowloon Route, its ventilation buildings, route planning, and environmental design more directly.
